I am super excited to announce that Joey got his QC at the AKC Lure Coursing trial hosted by Jersey Rag Racers Whippet Association on August 10th. I started to worry when he came off the lure to look back at me, but he went back on it and finished his run. What a good boy!!!
He has run three other days since and has now decided he doesn't want to complete his runs so we need to work on that. He is coming into this as an adult though and needs to build up his confidence as well as his endurance and follow. I know we will get there though and eventually he will be an old pro at lure coursing. This is just a stepping stone for us. I really wish I had another Ibizan to run him with since he does seem to thrive better with competition. I'm really proud of him for getting his QC though.

I have yet another Joey brag. On August 15 we tested for his CGC. I was nervous and we had been training hard to prepare. He completely surpassed my expectations and did amazing on his test. Joey is now officially the second dog that I have put a CGC on and he definitely wont be the last. Passing the CGC requirements will be a goal of mine for any future dogs down the road.
